An Electric Bike Option That Lets You Keep Your Bike and Still Get Exercise

An Electric Bike Option for Exercise Enthusiasts. ( TeK-THinK)

There has been a recent rush of electric bikes on the market, some of which are pretty cool. Many of these are what I would call electric only which really removes the exercise portion of the bike experience and makes it more like a scooter. Other specialty electric bikes allow a combination of peddling or electric drive.

Both of these types of bikes are fairly expensive and require giving up your current bike ( or keeping them both) which you may think is a great as it is except that you would like some electric assist at times. Big hills come to mind for me as I may shy away from even trying them with a peddle only bike.

There is another option that lets you keep you current bike and in just a few minutes change the from wheel to an electric drive. Combine this with a wireless pedal sensor and you have an optional electric drive bike when you want it without a lot of wires running outside the bike. This still allows you to get the exercise you want, when you want it.

The Electron Wheel ranges in prices on the internet from $800 to $999 which is not so cheap but compared to buying a complete bike this makes an interesting option.
