Home Experiment Causes an Airplane to Hover in Place

A great home experiment is a fantastic way to teach or learn.

There is no better way to get kids interested in science than to challenge them to figure out how things work. This is also a great way to pass a Saturday morning. Setting up some home experiments ( pick the safe ones) for the kids to try once a week is a challenge that I wish my parents did with. Maybe not, I did them myself and it worked out just fine.

Here is a very simple experiment in aerodynamics and the balancing of forces. All you need  is two small fans and an idea of how to make a paper airplane ( maybe this will be a later post). The results will amaze your kids for sure and having them explain it in their own words will be something you may want to video record.

It may not be as entertaining as listening to some of these “physicists” give their explanations but who knows.

Enjoy.
